Meijer has a super saturday sale coming up and it looks like a good time to buy some Hillshire Farm Sausage for only $1.59 cents a package (there are q's from smartsource out there) Also Keebler cookies will be 1/2 off and at my store there of lots of $1/2 peelies on the packages so that would make them only $1.50 a package (great for those of you that don't want to make your own lol) Suave is $.79 a botle and there is a coupon for $1/2 so that is also pretty cheap if you need some shampoo and conditioner. Sorry for short post
Going through the papers this week I have seen a few good things not too many but still a few.
Rite Aid Sweet Sue's chuck white chicken (5oz can) .99 cents
-there is a coupon for $.75/1 Sweet Sue's any one poultry product you can get these Q's for $.08 cents a piece at coupon The coupon master So this would bring the cost to about $.35 cents a can to me well worth it, espeically with the gift card I got for filling a Rx Coke 12 pks 3 for $8.99 with coupon from paper (cokerewards members can get coupons)
CVS Gold Emblem spices .77 each (every spring is a great time to replace the old ones) Cadbury or Hershey's mini eggs .49 cents (stock up for Easter) Cvs brand diapers 2/12.99 (don't forget to check babycheapskate.com)
Walgreens **Seed Packets 5/$1 (great for those of you planning to plant gardens this year) Reynolds Foil .89 cents and free with the $1 coupon that is out there Excedrin is $1.99 with $1 register rewards and athere are $1 coupons out there
Not that I have a ton of readers, HI GRANDMA!!!, however the reason this blog was started was to share all the great deals I can find on here for the rest of you which I have not done yet, or at least not organized or good.... lol so a great coupon friend on AFC (afullcup.com) let me know she has a great site like what I wanted that she shares... so PLEASE go check it out!!!
ALSO I forgot about this but I had an AWESOME COUPON for everyone who likes or is at least will to expeiriment with Aldi's... This is an official Aldi coupon (from Channel955.com website) for $5/ $30 and it doesn't end til the end of the month.
I went to kroger the other night becuase God only knows why I hadn't decided to go before the end of the sale but I didn't. So even though I had been to the after hours clinic and slept 36 of the last 48 hours and still felt tired, nausous, and dizzy I thought I should go I missed the meijer sales so I better go to the Kroger sales.... Oh dear lord I spent $48 Dollars!!!! I was out of my mind I could beleave that I had went so very far over budget ($40 per week) so today or tomrrow I will be returning a few items (dial soap) that I bought that added about $14 on my bill due to the fact that only 3 of 16 coupons doubled I pointed this out to the cashier and she was like "Not all coupons double!" I think she was upset that I was the third couponer in a row that night and the night shift at Kroger is never pleasant about couponers!!! I have talked to a manager about it but that doesn't seem to help and I don't have the time of day to fix everyone else being crabby (really I need to fix me being crabby) so back on subject.... I sat down and figured it all out yesturday (why are kroger receipts so difficult to read) So for $48 Dollars total I got: 34 cans Chefboyardee (used 10 coupons for .35/3) 16 Dial soaps (used 16 coupons for .35/1 only 3 doubled like they should have) 6 boxes BC fruit snacks (used 3 coupons for .50/2) also got a $3.50 oyno cat 1 Comfort Diapers ($3 coupon) 1 English muffins (clearance to .49 cents) 1 OJ 3 kids yogurt (used 3 coupons for .50/1) 3 yoplus yogurt (used 3 $1/1 coupons) 1 Diaper rash cream (I think the kids eat this stuff, really I don't know where it goes. used $1Q) 1 Dry milk (apparetally I need this to make bread) 1 off brand Pam (no coupons, were just out) 2 boxes of meijer oatmeal
Now the items in red will go to good use (except the soap that will be returned!) however these are the things that put me over my budget and were not planned purchases. So where my bill should have been far less, I was tired and looking for some convenice stuff that wouldn't take effort to prepare for the kids. Lesson Learned NO SHOPPING WHEN SICK!!! sales are not worth it becuase I wonder and A.D.D. kicks in far too much.
Earlier that day I had went to aldi's and spent $14
2 gallons of milk (expirering in 4 days so on special) .99 each 1 bucket of popcorn chicken $3.99 (seems very high to me however was good and filled up fam) 1 bag tator tots (however DH mentioned that he doesn't like tater tots) 1 2lb crate of grapes 1 2lb crate of strawberries 2 freezer bags (becuase I have wanted them before and they seem to be cheapest at ALDI's)
so I went really really REALLY over budget... groan and I am not done shopping for the week. GRRRR
Well I was very excited to go shopping for the first time in a while!! This is what I got last (1/31/09) week:
Meijer: 4 boxes of cereal used to $1 coupons and 2-FREE coupons and meijer took $5 off 4 boxes plus gave me a free gallon of milk... total $$$ spent... $0.12 cents (I saved 14.12 plus free gallon of milk coupon)
Kroger: Mega Sale the Buy 10 get $5 off I bought 8 bags of Armour meatballs (used 8 - $.55 cent off coupons plus got 2 catalina's for $2 off my next order) 2 bags of goldfish crackers, and 7 tubs of chapstick (on sale plus coupons) also got one container of baby puffs (comfort brand with $1 coupon) my total oop expense was 26.10 (I saved 27.42 plus two $2 cat's off my next order)
I have many people ask why I want to children to home school my children, there are many answers to this question first of which is to protect my child from the world, yes I do know that one day he/she will live in the world but I would like to take my chance to train my child up right so that they do not stray from their faith. Also plenty of people ask how my child will be able to be around their peers if they do not learn social skills, this assumption of homeschooling kids being completely unsociable is a pet peeve of mine. First kids don't need to be around kids of their age ALL the time, second my children are involved in play groups, church groups, and get to go to other social functions public schools are not the only way for kids to get socialized and trully who thinks it's that great of an idea for kids to be around other kids all the time, look at all the teens/young kids smoking, drinking, having sex, being cruel to other kids and learning from each other lots of other negative things.
